WE-Matter, with the support of CHROs and CEOs, recognized that many awards had lost their value, becoming mere transactions rather than true symbols of achievement. When a certain conversation was brought to light, WE-Matter knew something had to change in the Corporate Award space. After adding an award to the board's docket, a seasoned executive received an unexpected remark from his director. The director highlighted the diminished legitimacy of these awards by saying, "At the Mumbai airport, I noticed even the idli wala had won the same award." The message was clear: the industry needed something more credible, something that would restore the value of recognition. It was from this sentiment that the WE Global Employees' Choice Workplace Awards were born.
